Tipperary Walks
If you are looking for walking trails in Tipperary (or anywhere in Munster for that matter) then Clogheen, located at the Southern tip of South Tipperary, is the ideal location.
Whether you enjoy long, short, difficult, easy, steep or flat (low level) walks Clogheen has got them all. It is also very well equipped to cater for the cyclists among you.
Located at the base of the Knockmealdown Mountains, Clogheen is the ideal location for walks of every type. With walking access to the spectacularly beautiful areas of the Vee and Baylough the area is blessed with some of the best walks in the country. These are just the headline areas around Clogheen, if you take a look at the Walks Section of our website you’ll see that there are many other walks in the area so you’ll never get bored, no matter how long you stay. If you want to be kept up to date on walking posts, which are regularly updated, then click on the Tipperary Walks section to the side of the page.
So there’s no time to delay, it’s time to grab your walking boots (or runners) and, as the advert goes, ‘Be Active, Be Alive’.
If you’re not sure how to get here, it’s very easy – check out our Location page and it’ll tell you all you need to know.
If you want to stay around for a while the area is also blessed with some fine establishments in which you can eat, drink and stay. Check out our Accommodation page.
If you are looking for some companions with whom to walk then you can get in touch with the Knockmealdown Walking Club which organises regular walks over a variety of difficulty levels. It’s not a strictly regimented group, all the walkers are there simply for the enjoyment of a ramble in the wonderful countryside, so all comers are welcomed.
